There will be no Friday night folk dancing this week April 24, 2009 because of the When In Doubt Swing workshop this weekend.
The Dallas International Folk Dancers
Every Friday night, people from all walks of life gather in Dallas to enjoy the culture and flavor of numerous lands beyond--through their dances. Dances may be done in a circle, line or as couples--though you don't need to bring a partner. Instruction is provided and is user friendly.
The style of the dance differs by country, as does the music, so there is always something for everyone. You might learn a couple dance from Scandinavia, line dance from Eastern Europe or a circle dance from Israel. If you like to dance, this is the place to come: You'll meet friendly people, get some exercise and experience a little diversity!
The Dallas International Folk Dancers (formerly Dallas Folk Dance Co-op) was founded in 1977. Our mission is to provide a medium for the study, preservation and enjoyment of international folk dancing in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Learn the lyrics of some dance of our popular dance tunes. The group's name is Feet First, and of course, our motto is "Just Jump Right In There". We will be learning the words to songs like Makedonska Devojce, Misirlou and Ajde Jano. Plans are to possibly meet after dancing - so stick around. Gary has been told he has a nice voice for Romanian.
